The challenge posed was to insert a series of entrances and connecting walkway in an existing historic brick, steel, and glass building once used for manufacturing. Sensitivity to scale and material was key to achieving an acceptable intervention. Wood inset in steel frames relate yet soften the exterior. A connecting, elevated boardwalk provides for impromptu seating.
